three good things
Friends at markets and parties
Realising I would not be in the best of health to run on Sunday morning, I went straight to the Skewsby T-junction after the paper run and ran 11kms this morning, reasonably successfully, coming in at 6:45 mins per km; fitness improved to over 60 although form and fatigue both trending in the opposite direction. Need to really get some rest in. Although my recovery adviser says 19:00 on Sunday for a full recovery, its probably not worth doing anything until Tuesday.
Delighted to be contacted on FB by an old friend from London days who I hadn’t heard from for over 15 years. A real blast from the past and very welcome. Much catching up to do there.
First Saturday of the month and Hovingham Village Market is crowded and sociable. Coffee with M and J and agreed to all enter for the Vale of York half-marathon on 15 Sept. That will be a laugh. Plenty of opportunities to chat with others on the way round
A 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration in the evening provided yet another excellent opportunity to catch up with some seriously old friends from London and Yorkshire days gone by. Grateful for the opportunity to reminisce and exchange news and views.
A Gratitude Journal is just a simple way of
recording and appreciating the good things in life.
Research shows that keeping a gratitude journal leads to
higher levels of alertness, happiness and positive emotions as well as
a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure and better sleep.
