Gratitude journal
three good things

May 27, 2019

My support team

I am so grateful to all those who have trained, coached and advised me over the years in the arts of coaching, marketing, delivery, process, listening, planning and all the other skills needed to run my business. This culminated in a very successful online coaching call this evening with a couple. This was only the second time I put a client through my online Mapmaker service so I was a little apprehensive. However, the session went well, with both me and the clients satisfied with the outcome.

I ran a good 7k this afternoon with PBs for four segments including Helmsley Trail East and Helmsley Trail West and an overall PB for the entire route. Again, I am so grateful to those online and offline people who are helping me improve my fitness and my pace.

I find that most walkers are both considerate and friendly on the tracks when I am out running, usually responding with a smile and a hello to my breathy ‘good afternoon’, even encouraging me on in some cases.  Which is why I was surprised and saddened by a few walkers this afternoon who didn‘t respond or, worse, didn’t make any effort to step to the side or give way at the kissing gates on the Cleveland Way. It takes all sorts to make a world, I suppose, so, truly grateful to those with the attentiveness and consideration who do so.

A Gratitude Journal is just a simple way of recording and appreciating the good things in life.

Research shows that keeping a gratitude journal leads to higher levels of alertness, happiness and positive emotions
as well as a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure and better sleep.
